VOLUNTEER WORK
Currently, Thorncrown Games is an entirely volunteer-run project. No one on the team is receiving any monetary compensation for their work as the current game in development, Bible Gacha, is not expected to make any returns. Instead, Thorncrown hopes to provide its team members with future opportunities and open doors by promoting their work and projects.
In the future, Thorncrown plans to grow into a company making enough money to be able to pay team members, though that is several years down the line.
Workload
Since Thorncrown is a volunteer project, we want to be sure team members are only committing to workloads and schedules they can handle with everything else going on in their life. Team members are only expected to work however much they can, and if something changes in their schedules, they're allowed to ask for a lighter or heavier workload if they wish.
Team members are also free to leave the project at any time without concern for consequences. However, any content made for the game is immediately considered company property and cannot be retracted upon a member leaving the team. On the same note, members who have left the team will still be credited for any work they did during their time with us.
AI Usage
Thorncrown entirely prohibits the usage of generative AI from the project in every area. Any team member caught using AI for their work will be asked to leave the team and the AI generated content will be immediately removed from the project.
Personal Beliefs
As of right now, Thorncrown is only open to believers. Outside of that one requirement, we are relaxed on what is required of someone joining the team. We believe our company is not only a ministry to the people we are trying to reach with our game dev projects, but also to the members within the company.
That being said, Thorncrown as a company endorses the following:
There is only one True God, who is one Being, but three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Triune God who is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, begotten, not created; present from the beginning of eternity with the Father and Holy Spirt; and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and walked among us, died on a cross under Pontius Pilate, was buried, and rose again to life on the third day and now is seated at the right hand of the Father. One day, He will return.
The Holy Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God. It is sufficient and authoritative, and also necessary for a living relationship with Christ.
Salvation is obtained by grace through faith.
Human beings are valuable above all other created things, created in the image of God and set apart from the rest of creation. Humans have such great value from the moment of conception and do not lose it until the moment of death.
Sex is an expression of love only intended to be given in the confines of marriage between one man and one woman. Any expression of sex or marriage besides that union between one man and one woman is sinful and self destructive.
Available Positions
As of right now, Thorncrown is maintaining an open-door policy for volunteers who want to work on the Bible Gacha. Meaning, we're accepting pretty much anyone who applies. Here are the positions you can volunteer for (you can be involved in as many as you think you can handle):
Artist
Regardless of what art you want to do, whether character art, UI, backgrounds, items, etc, you fall under this role.
Coder
If you're planning to contribute to the game development side of the project, programming, coding, etc.
Coordinator
People within any of the other roles who's main focus is to aid communication, keep things running smoothly, check in with people, and pass on the team lead's instructions to others. This is NOT a team lead role.
Writer
Writing will involve writing out the voice lines for the gacha characters and their plans/tasks.
Researcher
This role will deep dive into the characters and their real life stories to research any content we add to the game.
Business and Marketing
Responsible for the business side of things; ads, promotional campaigns, social media, and presentation.
Voice Actor
Voice actors for the characters in the gacha game.
Musician
Anyone who wants to contribute to the music of the game, singers included.
We're currently looking mainly for artists, writers, musicians, and people with experience/interest in marketing and social media.
